Job summary

The Motor Company Service Centre in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing Christchurch workshop. You'll work across dealership stock, retail customer vehicles and specialist builds, with industry-leading pay and excellent facilities.

You'll enjoy a variety of vehicles, ongoing training and real career progression as we expand across three automotive businesses, with relocation support for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Recognised Automotive Technician qualification is required.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving abilities.
• Experience across a range of makes and models.
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Positive attitude and team-first approach.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding.
• Mechanical servicing and repairs.
• Scheduled maintenance.

Supporting The Motor Company, Ute Nation and Southern Specialist Cars, our technicians work across an incredible variety of vehicles.

One day you could be working on a family SUV or dealership vehicle, the next a modified 4WD, European performance car, collectable classic or specialist vehicle.

The Role

As an Automotive Technician, you'll be hands-on across dealership stock, retail customer vehicles and specialist builds.

Your work may include:

• Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding

• Mechanical servicing and repairs

• Scheduled maintenance

• Pre-purchase inspections and dealership vehicle preparation

• Accessory installation, 4WD upgrades and modifications

• Quality control and final inspections

• Working closely with our service, workshop and sales teams

What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced technicians who take pride in their work and want to be part of a workshop that’s continuing to grow.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A recognised Automotive Technician qualification

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability

• Experience across a range of makes and models

• High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship

• A positive attitude and team-first approach

• Good communication skills

Experience with European, performance, 4WD or specialist vehicles is an advantage, but not essential.

A current Warrant of Fitness authority, or willingness to obtain one, is also desirable.
