Job summary

ASB Bank in Albany/Auckland is seeking a Software Specialist - Testing to drive quality across customer-facing platforms. You’ll shape testing strategies and automate within a high-performing squad, delivering reliable, scalable software.

Bring deep expertise in test automation with Selenium and Playwright, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and data validation to ensure resilient applications and strong delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience across automated and manual testing in complex technology environments.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
• Expertise in functional, integration, API, end-to-end, performance, and data validation testing.
• Ability to define testing strategies, plans, reporting, and quality practices.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams and modern engineering environments.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation within delivery workflows.
• Experience mentoring team members and championing testing standards, best practice, and continuous improvement.
• Experience testing SaaS, cloud-based, and enterprise-scale applications.
• SQL and relational database testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and scenarios aligned to business and technical requirements.
• Design, maintain, and enhance automated and manual test solutions.
• Deliver functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing activities.
• Build and support test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality practices.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation activities for system and data change initiatives.
• Identify, analyse, and manage defects through to resolution.
• Partner with stakeholders to support testing, quality assurance, and solution sign-off.
• Champion quality engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the squad.
