Job summary

New Zealand Health Manufacturing (NZHM) in Mangere, North Island, NZ, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee industrial machinery maintenance and installation. The role focuses on preventive maintenance for encapsulation, packing, and labeling lines, with a morning shift 6am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday and rostered Saturday work.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in manufacturing and a Maintenance Engineering Qualification, with preference for pharma or nutraceutical experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in the manufacturing environment.
• Maintenance Engineering Qualification required.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance execution for encapsulation, packing and labeling machinery.
• Develop SOPs and oversee installation and OQ of machines per standards.
• Train staff in machine operation and ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers/contractors, including FAT at OEM sites.
• Review layouts and designs to meet plant requirements.
• Assess maintenance records and optimize spare parts policies.
• Manage plant utilities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate cost-effective equipment procurement.
• Use equipment data to improve performance and support redesigns.
• Apply root cause analysis (5 Whys, DMAIC, Fishbone) for CI.
