Job summary

Deloitte NZ's Assurance team is seeking an Associate Director to lead client engagements in AI Assurance, governance and risk management across the national Digital Assurance practice. You will shape the AI Assurance offering, develop market opportunities and help organisations build confidence in AI systems and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in AI, data/analytics, technology risk, or related advisory areas.
• Experience leading large or complex client engagements with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building ability.
• Experience in AI governance, model risk management or AI controls.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and governance frameworks (NIST RMF, ISO 42001, SOC).

Responsibilities

• Lead complex AI assurance, governance, controls and internal audit engagements.
• Advise on AI governance, regulatory readiness and control frameworks.
• Assess AI systems, ML models, RAG solutions and agent-based tech.
• Evaluate AI lifecycle and platform controls, monitoring processes.
• Translate technical risks into practical exec-level recommendations.
• Support regulatory readiness and industry standards alignment.
• Contribute to Deloitte's AI Assurance methodology and thought leadership.
• Develop market opportunities and build trusted client relationships.
