Suncorp New Zealand is seeking an Assistant Underwriter - Distribution to support profitable growth of our SME commercial portfolio, strengthen broker relationships and deliver outstanding customer outcomes in Auckland.

You will review risks, make underwriting decisions, collaborate with intermediaries and internal teams, and contribute to digitisation and process improvements to enhance the broker and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial underwriting.
• Strong understanding of the NZ commercial insurance market.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-first mindset with focus on positive outcomes.
• Experience with Vero systems advantageous.
• Insurance industry qualifications or tertiary qualifications advantageous.

Responsabilités

• You’ll review and assess SME commercial risks and provide underwriting support on renewal and new business.
• You’ll make informed underwriting decisions that support profitable portfolio growth.
• You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and intermediary partners.
• You’ll deliver timely, accurate and customer-focused service.
• You’ll manage partner referrals and identify trends for continuous improvement.
• You’ll collaborate with teams across Distribution, Operations, Claims and Customer Experience to achieve business objectives.
• You’ll support digitisation, automation and process improvement initiatives that enhance the customer and partner experience.
