Job summary

Rolleston Sam Singh Farming Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Christchurch restaurant. You will manage staff, ensure prompt service and handle inquiries and complaints while overseeing rosters and stock control.

The role requires at least 6 months of relevant experience or a level 4+ qualification in Business/commerce/management/sales/Arts, with a focus on reliability, clear communication, and composure under pressure. A MOJ check and pre-employment drug test are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience or level 4+ qualification in Business/commerce/management/sales/Arts or relevant field.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Clear and confident communicator.
• Calm and efficient under pressure.
• Ministry of Justice check and pre-employed drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services.
• Responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about goods and services.
• Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties.
• Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and
• Resolving staff grievances.
• Instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures.
• Examining returned goods and deciding on appropriate action.
• Taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock.
• Ensuring that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed.
• Ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced.
