Job summary

Tiaki Wai, a council‑owned organisation in New Zealand, is recruiting a strategic asset management leader to drive excellence across the AMS and SAMP. You will provide people leadership and ensure integrated planning supports confident investment decisions for resilient water services.

You will coordinate cross‑disciplinary planning, shape capability, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while aligning with the organisation’s values.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in asset-intensive or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of contemporary asset management principles and ISO55000.
• Ability to build trusted relationships across an organisation.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven track record coaching leaders and building team capability.

Responsibilities

• Set direction and performance expectations for the team; coach and develop people.
• Drive development and continuous improvement of Asset Management System and Strategic Asset Management Plan.
• Oversee strategic condition assessment programmes and translate information into planning and investment recommendations.
• Integrate growth forecasts, levels of service and future demand into long-term infrastructure planning.
• Partner with stakeholders and provide trusted advice to executives for evidence-based decisions.
