Job summary

Tiaki Wai is seeking an experienced asset management leader to shape long-term water infrastructure planning and investment decisions. You will lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team, drive AMS/SAMP development, and translate asset data into strategic planning.

You will partner with executives and stakeholders to deliver a resilient water service strategy, balancing risk, service levels, and growth within a collaborative, change-capable culture.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary teams in asset-intensive or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary asset management principles and ISO55000.
• Proven ability to set direction, lead through change, and build capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set direction and performance expectations for the team; coach and develop people.
• Drive development and continuous improvement of AMS, SAMP, and planning frameworks.
• Oversee strategic condition assessment programmes; translate data into planning and investment recommendations.
• Integrate growth forecasts, service levels, and future demand into long-term investment strategies.
• Partner with stakeholders and provide trusted advice to executives for evidence-based decisions.
