Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Queenstown is seeking an Asphalt Plant Machine Operator on a fixed-term basis to support a project. You will operate plant equipment, assist with maintenance, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the asphalt plant with a safety-focused team.

You’ll receive hands-on training across plant functions, with exposure to loader operation and related equipment, contributing to high-quality asphalt products for local infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement (desirable).
• Asphalt industry knowledge or experience (desirable).
• Confidence working with computers, systems and numbers.
• Mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to health and safety and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate the asphalt plant safely and efficiently.
• Operate the loader and other plant equipment as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Direct on-site truck movements and manage deliveries.
• Load customers and ensure product quality and accuracy.
• Support health, safety, and operational excellence across the site.
