Job summary

Diocesan School For Girls in Auckland seeks a part-time Costume and Wardrobe Coordinator for 20 hours per week during the school term, starting in Term 1, 2027. You will coordinate costumes, props, and set materials for curriculum performances and events, while maintaining wardrobes and supporting stage setups.

Role involves liaising with external venues and suppliers, managing entries and safety documentation, and assisting teachers with creative event execution across drama, dance, and music.

Qualifications

• Experience in costume or wardrobe management, props, technical/stage production, or events (theatre, dance or similar).
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple productions/events and deadlines at once.
• A flexible, hands-on approach, with availability for some evenings and weekends around performance season.
• Confidence liaising with external venues, suppliers and organisations.
• A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for supporting student creativity and performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate costumes, props, set materials and/or instruments for curriculum performances and events across Drama, Dance, Music.
• Maintain, catalogue and manage the faculty's wardrobes, including washing, repairs and storage solutions.
• Support event set-up, pack-down and stage-hand duties, including being backstage, side-stage, or stage-managing curriculum performances.
• Liaise with external organisations, venues and suppliers, competition facilitators and manage entries, safety documentation and royalties (including APRA).
• Work alongside classroom teachers to understand the creative vision for each event, and support with costumes, props, cues, scripts, instrument set-up, recording studio bookings, rock band administration.
