Job summary

Roman & Brothers Construction Limited in Auckland, NZ is hiring an Architectural Designer to prepare drawings and interpret plans. This full‑time, permanent role offers $42–$55 per hour with 40 hours per week and a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours.

Ideal candidates will hold NZQF Level 5+ in architecture/related field or have 3+ years’ experience, plus clean police records and the ability to pass drug tests. Preference for NZ citizens or residents with relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 5 or higher in the field relevant to architecture, architectural design or technology, or at least three years relevant work experience is required.
• Clean police record.
• Can pass drug tests.

Responsibilities

• assisting Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning and organisation
• interpreting plans, regulations and codes of practice
• preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications
• preparing, editing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings
• inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
• calculating costs and estimating time scales
• collecting data using surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment
• performing routine computations and plotting preliminary data

Education

NZQF Level 5 or higher in architecture/architectural design or technology, or 3+ years relevant work experience
