Job summary

Hutt City Council is seeking a Facility Manager for our state-of-the-art Te Ngaengae aquatic facility in Lower Hutt. You will oversee daily operations, drive performance, and lead high-performing teams to deliver exceptional community experiences.

The role requires a minimum of five years in aquatic facility management, strong leadership, and solid financial planning skills. Health and safety compliance, customer engagement, and ongoing development of staff are central to the position.

Qualifications

• An experienced leader with at least five years in an aquatic or recreation facility management role.
• Strong community focus and passion for wellbeing outcomes.
• Operational and strategic planning skills with financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day pool and fitness suite operations.
• Coach and develop staff; manage resource allocation.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and compliance with health and industry standards.
• Support community programmes and customer engagement.
• Lead financial and business planning to drive utilisation and revenue growth.
