Green by Nature is proud to be the Whangarei District Council's chosen provider for keeping the community looking great. An opportunity has arisen, and we are now looking for a Team Manager to lead our dedicated Facilities Operators!

As Team Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and your role involves managing our team of 7 Facilities Operators, actively supporting them, and ensuring their success while exceeding our clients' expectations.

What do our Facilities Operators do?

Our Facilities Operators are essential to keeping the Whangarei community looking its best. They clean public bathrooms, BBQs, bus stops, drinking fountains, and handle bin and rubbish collection. As Team Manager, you will use your leadership skills to build a cohesive team focused on excellence and pride in their work.

Who we are looking for:

Our ideal candidate has prior experience in a similar industry or has proven experience in leading a team to achieve their best work. We need someone who isn't fazed by unexpected challenges but rather thrives in such situations, making well-informed decisions that instil confidence in their team. Other qualities we seek include:

• A minimum of 2 years of managerial experience preferably within the same industry
• Exceptional interpersonal skills are a must, enabling you to effectively communicate with individuals internally, externally, and from diverse backgrounds
• You’ll be well organised and be able to use your planning skills to coordinate and manage workloads and staff rosters
• Strong computer and administrative skills are essential for the role, as you’ll be heavily involved in various tasks such as recruitment, onboarding, training, timesheet management, and annual leave approval
• A positive attitude towards working safely and a desire to uphold the company health and safety policies
• A current class 1 driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Above all, be prepared to help with the team on the ground!
