Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd in Napier is seeking an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Technician. You will learn to service, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles while working with experienced technicians in a fast-paced workshop.

Through the MITO apprenticeship, you’ll gain a national qualification and hands-on experience. A positive attitude, interest in mechanics, and a full or restricted driver’s licence are essential, with NZ citizenship or PR required.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 2 maths and English required or equivalent.
• MITO studies commitment to complete the programme.
• NZ citizenship or permanent residency is required.
• A Full or Restricted Driver Licence is required.
• Reliable transport to and from work is essential.
• A pre-trade automotive qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Learn to service, maintain, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles.
• Work alongside experienced technicians in a busy Napier workshop.
• Progress through the MITO apprenticeship to a nationally recognised qualification.

What we're looking for
