Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Applications and Business Process Analyst

Sanford, a leading provider of seafood in New Zealand, is seeking an Applications & Business Process Analyst to join our IT team based in our Auckland head office in stunning Wynyard Quarter.

Reporting to the IS Applications Manager, this role sits at the intersection of our business operations and technology, helping ensure Sanford’s systems and processes continue to evolve alongside the needs of the business.

With a particular focus on our ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), you’ll work closely with operational teams and stakeholders to understand business challenges, gather requirements and translate these into practical system and process improvements. You’ll also maintain a connection to day-to-day application support, giving you the operational understanding needed to design solutions that are practical and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and translate business requirements into practical system enhancements, process changes and new functionality.
  • Analyse and document current and future-state business processes, identifying opportunities to simplify and improve how we work.
  • Lead or contribute to system and process improvements from initial concept through to implementation.
  • Maintain oversight of master data standards and governance, including product information, bills of materials (BOMs) and production routes.
  • Remain connected to application support, helping resolve complex or recurring issues that highlight underlying system or process gaps.
  • Support system changes, upgrades and deployments, including test planning, UAT and task management through Azure DevOps.
  • Work closely with business users, IT teams and external partners, providing training and support as new processes and system changes are introduced.

About You:

You’ll be someone who enjoys understanding how a business actually operates – not just how its systems work. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail with operational teams, identifying what they really need and translating those needs into practical improvements. This role would suit someone with a background spanning business analysis and business applications who enjoys improving processes but still wants to remain connected to the systems and day-to-day operations they support.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience, with experience across business analysis, application support or systems administration.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, with exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) advantageous.
  • Experience gathering requirements, analysing business processes and translating operational challenges into practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distinguish critical business needs from nice-to-have requests.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work confidently across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A practical, curious and improvement-focused mindset, with the confidence to take ownership, work independently and help others understand new systems and processes.

Why Sanford?

This is an opportunity to have a genuine impact on how our business operates. You’ll work across a diverse application landscape and partner with teams throughout Sanford to improve the systems and processes that support our day-to-day operations. You’ll have the opportunity to get close to the business, understand how things really work and turn that knowledge into meaningful improvements, while continuing to grow your capability across business analysis and enterprise applications.Sanford offers a discount on seafood products along with a supportive way of working to ensure you are leading a happy, healthy, and balanced lifestyle.

You may be subject to pre-employment checks that include a Ministry of Justice check, drug and alcohol screening and credit checks.
