Job summary

Fisher & Paykel is seeking a Customer Experience Technician Apprentice in Christchurch. This role offers hands-on learning across a range of household appliances, combining practical on-the-job training with structured development to help you become a qualified Appliance Service Technician.

You’ll work with experienced technicians, receive comprehensive training, and have opportunities for career progression within a supportive environment. A full NZ driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Interest in technology, mechanics or hands-on problem-solving.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Practical, solution-focused mindset.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence (or ability to obtain one soon).

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose, service, and repair a range of household appliances.
• Receive structured on-the-job training from experienced technicians.
• Assist with appliance repairs in workshop and in customers' homes as skills develop.
• Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities through hands-on experience.
• Complete service documentation and job records accurately.
• Build product knowledge through training sessions, manuals, and online resources.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional interactions with customers.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
