Massey University – Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa on the Manawatu campus in Palmerston North seeks two permanent, full‑time Teaching Technicians to support Animal Science and Agriculture programmes. You will help deliver practical classes, manage labs, assist students, and maintain teaching resources.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in animal science or related field, hands‑on animal handling skills, strong organisational and communication abilities, and a NZ driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Animal Science, AgriScience, or related field.
• Practical experience handling domestic, companion, and production animals.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• NZ driver's licence and willingness to work with animals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation, setup, operation, and maintenance of teaching laboratories and practical classes.
• Support and demonstrate in practical teaching activities in lab and field environments.
• Assist students in developing animal handling, technical, and professional skills.
• Source and manage teaching resources, including animals and lab consumables.
• Support online and blended learning activities and maintain course resources.
• Assist with assessment activities, marking coursework, and invigilation.
