Westpac New Zealand Ltd in Auckland is seeking a capable Analyst to join the Loans Management Business within Specialised Business Services, focusing on stressed and impaired lending exposures and run-off outcomes. You will analyse financial statements, engage with customers, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop practical recovery strategies while balancing risk and fairness.

About the role

We’re looking for a capable and resilient Analyst to join our Loans Management Business (LMB) team within Specialised Business Services, where you’ll play a key role in managing stressed and impaired lending exposures. Reporting to the Manager, Loans Management Business, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of stressed loans and impaired assets (generally <$5m TCE, Risk Grade E or below). Your focus will be on achieving effective and timely run‑off outcomes while balancing recovery, customer rehabilitation and risk management. You’ll work closely with customers, internal stakeholders and external advisors to develop practical, commercially sound solutions that protect the Bank’s interests while treating customers fairly and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Managing strategies for a portfolio of stressed and impaired lending exposures
