Job summary

NZSki Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our alpine kitchen on Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt. Dive into dish duty, prep work, and daily food preparation to keep service hopping and kitchens gleaming.

You'll work closely with Head Chef and the culinary team, helping with washing dishes, stock control, and maintaining hygiene standards. A willingness to work hard on busy winter days is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial or high-volume kitchen is desirable.
• Food Safety or Basic Cookery certificate are desirable.
• Must understand basic Food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items and ski area cuisine following recipes and Head Chef instructions.
• Keep mis-en-place prepared in time for service.
• Stock control and planning to minimise wastage.
• Communicate with and serve customers.
• Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen area and workstation.
• Complete tasks and records required by the Food Control Plan.
• Assist in other areas of the department as required.
• Wash dishes, scrub pots and sterilise equipment.
