Job description

Agri Manager

Ravensdown Alexandra, Other / Non-US, New Zealand

About this position

Are you passionate about agriculture and ready to help shape the future of farming? We’re on the lookout for a driven, customer-focused Agri professional to join our Otago team. You will be based out of our Alexandra Office; however, we are open to flexible working arrangements.

As an Agri Manager, you’ll be a trusted advisor to farmers, helping them get the best from their soil, pasture, crops, and animals while guiding them towards environmentally sustainable practices. You’ll play a vital role in reducing environmental impacts and unlocking value from the land through expert nutrient advice, innovative services, and top-quality products.

This is a role where every day counts – you’ll spend most of your time on farm, building strong relationships, identifying needs, and delivering tailored solutions that make a real difference. Your region will cover predominantly sheep and beef customers with some dairy customers across the region.

What You’ll Do
  • Build strong partnerships with farmers, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that drive success.
  • Plan and implement customer visits, achieving sales targets while providing expert advice.
  • Use cutting-edge technology to help shareholders boost profitability and lead in environmental stewardship.
  • Create strategies to reduce environmental impact and optimise land value.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently in a remote region, using initiative and sound judgement while managing day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Keep learning and growing – because your development matters too.
What You’ll Bring
  • A can‑do attitude and a genuine passion for the agriculture industry.
  • 2 + years of hands‑on experience engaging with customers, driving sales growth, and fostering authentic business relationships.
  • Solid knowledge of farming systems and soil fertility.
  • Excellent communication skills – you love a good yarn and can build trust easily.
  • Awareness of New Zealand’s evolving environmental policies and their impact on farming.
  • Tech‑savvy with experience in agricultural technology systems.
  • Ideally, a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field.
Why You’ll Love It Here
  • Company car, phone, laptop, and clothing provided.
  • Competitive salary, 5% superannuation, individual medical insurance.
  • Ongoing training and development – we invest in your growth.
  • Fantastic career opportunity within our co‑operative
  • A supportive, down‑to‑earth team culture.
