Job summary

Air New Zealand Limited is seeking an experienced Programme Manager (Delivery and Performance Specialist) on a contract basis to help squads and partners deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives with pace and value. You’ll roll up sleeves, shape priorities, manage flow and dependencies, and coach leaders and Product Owners to improve forecasting and delivery performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience as an Agile Programme Manager or equivalent.
• Expertise in agile, lean and flow-based delivery with flexible approaches.
• Experience translating strategy into outcomes, managing budgets and vendor risk.
• Systems thinker with delivery rhythm design and blockers resolution.
• Able to use empirical data to forecast, decide and improve performance.
• Strong coaching, facilitation and influencing skills with cross-functional partners.
• Change management and adoption capabilities to embed outcomes.
• Clear communication and active listening; aviation or transport experience is desirable.
• Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with comfort in ambiguity and constructive challenge.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate end-to-end delivery across complex, multi-team initiatives.
• Shape objectives into customer, operational and commercial outcomes with release plans.
• Establish governance, cadences, reporting and decision forums; keep priorities visible.
• Manage flow, risks, dependencies and unblocks progress as context changes.
• Optimize delivery systems and align internal with vendor delivery.
• Use throughput, cycle time and adoption signals to improve forecasting.
• Coach Product Owners, Delivery Owners and teams to improve prioritisation.
• Lead change enablement and adoption tracking to embed outcomes.
• Ensure safety and security of people, assets and procedures.
