Job Description

We're looking for an organised, relationship-focused professional to join our International Office as an Agent and Pathway Operations Adviser.

This is a pivotal role supporting the University's network of international education agents and pathway partners. Working closely with the Agent and Pathway Operations Manager and our International Future Students team, you'll help ensure our global recruitment partnerships operate effectively, compliantly and deliver outstanding outcomes for prospective international students.

A varied and collaborative position, you'll coordinate agent communications, support contract and performance management activities, oversee commission reconciliation processes, monitor compliance obligations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, reporting and operational practices.

You'll also provide valuable insights through reporting and analysis, helping inform strategic decision-making and supporting the University's international student recruitment objectives.

The International Office leads the University's internationalisation strategy, including international student recruitment, global partnerships, transnational education and student mobility programmes.

As part of the International Future Students team, you'll work with colleagues across the University as well as education agents, pathway providers and international partners around the world. This is a highly collaborative environment where innovation, relationship building and continuous improvement are highly valued.

This is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week). The salary range for this role is Band F. Appointments are most typically made within the range of $78,601 – $85,000, negotiable depending on skills and experience.

You'll be someone who enjoys working at the intersection of relationship management, operations, compliance and data. You have a keen eye for detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service to stakeholders.

You'll bring strong analytical capability alongside excellent communication skills, allowing you to build trusted relationships and contribute to improvements that enhance both peer experience and operational effectiveness. With a forward-thinking and continuous improvement mindset, you'll proactively identify opportunities to strengthen processes, systems and service delivery, driving more effective ways of working across the function.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
  • An understanding of the international higher education sector
  • Experience improving processes, systems and service delivery
  • Financial administration, reconciliation, or commission management experience
  • Experience working with contracts, compliance requirements, or governance processes
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including advanced Excel capability
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams

Experience in international student recruitment, admissions, education agencies, or project delivery would be highly advantageous.

We offer more than just a job. We provide a supportive and flexible work environment, competitive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within one of New Zealand's most respected organisations.

Our staff benefits include:

  • Up to 6.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Five weeks' annual leave
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Career development and learning opportunities
  • Access to staff discounts and wellbeing programmes
  • A vibrant campus environment with excellent facilities
