Job summary

Waterlea Lifecare in Blenheim is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to support residents with engaging programs that meet physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional needs. This part-time role offers 16.5 hours per week on a four days on/four days off rolling roster in a warm, supportive Heritage Lifecare community.

Role focuses on planning and delivering activities, building meaningful connections with residents and whānau while maintaining a safe, respectful environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver activity programs meeting residents' physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Plan, organise and deliver activities, outings, and events.
• Foster community group involvement and teamwork to ensure safe, caring environment.
• Build lasting relationships with residents and whānau.
