Job summary

Waterlea Lifecare, located in the sunny Marlborough town of Blenheim, is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our caring team. Four days on, Four days off with AM and weekend shifts, you will plan, deliver and adapt activities to meet diverse resident needs.

You will care for residents with warmth, empathy and a positive attitude, delivering engaging programs, building relationships with residents and their whanau, and contributing to a safe, supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience caring for others, ideally within an aged care environment.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude.
• A passion for continuous improvement, with a sound understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver activity programs that meet residents’ physical, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and emotional needs.
• Plan, organise and deliver activities, outings, events and community group involvement.
• Work with the team to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment for residents.
• Build lasting relationships with residents and whanau-family; support wider team members.
