Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a practical Maintenance Fitter to join our Hamilton Manufacturing team on the Afternoon Shift (3:30pm–12:00am, Monday to Friday). You will maintain and repair key plant equipment, facilities and infrastructure, helping protect uptime and safety while supporting production schedules and performance targets.

You will perform planned preventative maintenance, respond promptly to breakdowns, identify faults, and drive reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Technical certification in Fitting, Diagnostics, Maintenance or related field, Level 4.
• At least 3 years' experience as a trade-qualified person in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding capability and hands-on maintenance experience.
• Lean principles and PPS/root cause analysis familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules.
• Respond to breakdowns and complete timely repairs.
• Identify machine faults and recommend reliability improvements.
• Use CMMS to record work and maintenance activity.
• Support Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Raise purchase orders and gather quotes for mechanical work.
• Work with supervisors, production teams and external contractors.
• Maintain a safe, organized and high-performing work environment.
