Awanui Labs - Dunedin is seeking an Administrator for Cytology to join our busy Dunedin Laboratory. This permanent, full-time role involves data entry, recording patient/test information, handling inquiries, and providing support at the FNA clinic.

We welcome someone with strong computer skills and a customer-focused approach; healthcare experience is a plus but full training is provided. The 80-hour fortnight schedule is a stable, long-term opportunity.

About the role | Mō te tūranga

Our busy Dunedin Laboratory provides services to both the Hospital and the Community and is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Administrator for Cytology to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time role of 80 hours per fortnight.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, capable team player with strong attention to detail. While previous healthcare experience is a plus, full training will be provided to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate recording of patient and test information.
• Answer telephone enquiries and manage incoming communications.
• Perform data entry, filing, and general administrative tasks.
• Assist patients attending the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) clinic.
• Collate and retrieve cases and reports for multidisciplinary review meetings.
• Provide additional administrative support as required.

• Strong computer skills and comfortable using digital systems.
• Previous healthcare experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Friendly, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Methodical and quality-conscious, with great attention to detail.
• Comfortable working around needles, blood, and clinical environments.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to learn, adaptable, and keen to develop new skills.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
