You will contribute to a collaborative team and maintain high quality standards. The role includes a rostered weekend shift about once a month, with regular weekday hours and a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and patient care.

About the role | Mō te tūranga:

• It is full-time Monday to Friday, hours to be confirmed, with a rostered weekend shift approximately once a month, once fully trained.
• Your key tasks will be receiving and preparing samples, barcoding, performing data entry of patients and test details and answering phones. This is a hands-on role in the laboratory environment where you will work collaboratively as part of the team, work well under pressure, and have an eye for detail and problem-solving ability.

• The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
• Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
• A sound knowledge of medical terminology, and laboratory operations including safety, operations of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable but not essential.
• Must be a team player with initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Registration with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand and hold an annual practising certificate is desirable, but not essential.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
