Job summary

The Acute Assessment Unit at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centred care for rapid assessment and short-term treatment. You will use clinical judgement to assess, plan, and deliver care, while working closely with patients and whānau in a fast-paced acute setting.

This permanent, part-time role (40 hours per fortnight, 0.5 FTE) offers a collaborative multidisciplinary team and opportunities to develop clinically.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration with a valid practising certificate.
• Strong clinical skills for fast-paced acute environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred care to patients requiring rapid assessment and short-term treatment.
• Use clinical judgement to assess, plan, and deliver care with patients and whānau in a dynamic acute setting.
• Manage changing priorities, support patient flow, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to patient education, ongoing assessment, and a positive team environment.
