Job summary

Inovo in New Zealand is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our finance team in Auckland or Christchurch. This is an ideal role for someone early in their career, with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn and grow in finance.

You'll handle monthly invoicing in Total Synergy, manage end-to-end AR, chase overdue accounts, reconcile ledgers with Xero and Total Synergy, and support month-end close with AR reporting. NZ residency or citizenship is required.

• Some experience in accounts receivable, finance, or administration is a plus, but a strong attitude to learn matters most.

• NZ permanent resident or NZ citizenship status is essential.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our finance team, based in either our Auckland or Christchurch office. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career, including recent graduates, who is eager to learn and build a career in finance. Some experience is great but not essential; what matters most is a genuine willingness to learn, sharp attention to detail, and a meticulous approach to process. You will report to our Finance Officer.

In this role you will:

• Play a key role in our monthly invoicing cycle, working closely with our project management system, Total Synergy, to help get client invoices raised accurately and on time
• Manage the end-to-end AR process: invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations
• Chase overdue accounts and maintain strong client relationships throughout
• Reconcile AR ledgers against project billing systems (Xero and Total Synergy)
• Support month-end close with accurate AR reporting
• Work with project managers to resolve billing queries and disputes
• Identify and flag unbilled work in progress

About you:

• Some experience in accounts receivable, finance, or administration is a bonus, but we’re just as interested in the right attitude
• Eager to learn, with a genuine interest in building a career in finance
• Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working methodically through process-driven tasks
• Confident with Xero, and quick to pick up new systems (experience with project-based billing systems like Total Synergy, WorkflowMax, or similar is a strong advantage)
• Comfortable working to a monthly invoicing deadline as part of a small, collaborative finance team
• Organised and confident following up with clients
• Good communicator who can work well with non-finance staff
• It is essential you hold either NZ permanent resident or NZ citizenship status.
