TIG, a Queenstown-based tourism operator, is seeking an Accounts Payable and Payroll professional to manage day-to-day AP and payroll across business units. You will ensure suppliers are paid on time and employees are paid accurately, with records coded and reconciled in the system.
You'll collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team and the Accounts Manager, handle supplier queries, maintain supplier accounts, and run payroll fortnightly, ensuring NZ payroll requirements are met.

The Accounts Payable and Payroll role will look after the day-to-day accounts payable and payroll for all business units. You will make sure suppliers are paid correctly and on time, employees are paid accurately and on schedule, and all AP and payroll transactions are properly recorded, reconciled and maintained. You will work closely with the Accounts Receivable team member and the Accounts Manager as well as the wider team to ensure invoices are appropriately approved, coded and allocated to the correct business entity and cost centres.
Process and accurately code supplier invoices in Xero and Lightyear
Ensure invoices are allocated to the correct business entity, GL code and are appropriately approved before payment
Monitor outstanding supplier invoices and maintain accurate supplier accounts
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
Respond to supplier queries and resolve invoice discrepancies, act as the primary source of contact
Identify and prevent duplicate invoices and payments
Process fortnightly payroll accurately and within required deadlines
Process changes to pay rates, hours, allowances, deductions and leave
Ensure PAYE, KiwiSaver and other payroll-related deductions are accurately processed and reported
Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Previous experience in accounts payable, payroll or a similar role
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good understanding of accounts and payroll processes
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Comfortable using Xero, Lightyear and Smartly
Good understanding of New Zealand payroll requirements
Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information
