Job summary

Deloitte New Zealand invites a technically skilled Manager to join the Tauranga Accounting and Reporting Advisory team. Bring 5+ years in Big 4 or mid-tier environments or industry, with CA credentials, to deliver IFRS and PBE IPSAS solutions for diverse clients.

You will lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across service lines to improve client finance functions and reporting. This role offers a rewarding career path in Tauranga.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage projects and solve problems in the finance world – this could be through experience within audit (ideally Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience), or in industry.
• Analytical, curious, and willing to learn, always seeking to stay ahead of industry changes.
• Proven leadership capabilities, lead by example, able to build strong relationships with clients and your Deloitte Whanau.
• Ability to leverage accounting technical skills to make a meaningful impact.
• Full CA membership (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience, either in NZ or globally.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including knowledge of IFRS and PBE IPSAS.
• Experience managing projects in professional services, or industry.
• Self-motivated, client-focused, and results-driven with a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with practical and pragmatic accounting solutions for unique challenges.
• Prepare, review and improve IFRS and PBE IPSAS financial statements.
• Enhance clients' finance functions by improving processes and performance.
• Support clients through disruptive events (mergers, acquisitions, or divestments).
• Assist clients with sustainability and performance reporting.
• Build, lead and guide strong teams, fostering growth and collaboration across functions.
• Foster trust by delivering value, particularly through the audit process.
