Job summary

Skellerup Christchurch is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance Team. You will work with the Finance Business Partner and operations to cover accounting, costing, inventory, tax, and reporting, helping improve business performance.

The role offers broad finance experience in a well-established NZ manufacturer and a collaborative team environment, with opportunities to develop commercial finance skills alongside experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• CA qualified or currently studying towards CA qualification.
• 2–3 years accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support a broad range of accounting and finance activities with the Finance Business Partner and operational teams.
• Gain exposure across financial reporting, product costing, inventory management, tax and business analysis.
• Maintain strong financial controls, deliver accurate reporting and assist decision-making.

As our business continues to grow and evolve, we're looking for an Accountant to join our Christchurch-based Finance Team.

This is an opportunity to build broad experience across financial accounting, manufacturing and product costing, inventory management, tax, reporting, and commercial finance. Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, you'll play an important role in supporting business performance and helping ensure the business continues to operate efficiently and effectively.

About the role

You’ll work closely with the Finance Business Partner, Financial Controller and operational teams across the business, supporting a broad range of accounting and finance activities.

The role offers exposure across financial reporting, manufacturing and product costing, inventory management, tax, fixed assets, and business analysis. You’ll play an important role in maintaining strong financial controls, delivering accurate reporting, and supporting business decision-making.

This is a great opportunity to build broad finance experience within a well-established New Zealand manufacturing business while working alongside experienced finance professionals in a collaborative team environment.

We're looking for someone with

• CA qualified, or currently studying towards CA qualification
• 2-3 years' accounting experience
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems would be advantageous
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of outcomes
