You will work with partners to identify accessible opportunities, adapt activities to participant needs, and ensure proper procedures and risk management are followed. This role supports physical, social and mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching, facilitating or supporting people in a community, recreation, disability, health or education setting.
  • Confident working with people of different ages, abilities and support needs.
  • Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to adapt activities and communicate instructions clearly.
  • Comfortable working independently while remaining part of a wider team.
  • Current first aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Completion of required child-safeguarding training.
  • Ability to undertake the physical requirements of preparing equipment and delivering sessions.
  • Availability to work at the times required for scheduled programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver regular Community Trikes sessions.
  • Provide a safe, supportive and enjoyable experience for participants.
  • Welcome and support participants, whānau, carers, schools and community groups.
  • Adapt activities and equipment to participants' abilities and goals.
  • Manage session bookings, attendance records and participant information.
  • Complete equipment checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Monitor participation and recommend practical improvements to the programme.
  • Work with the Head of Programmes and Coaching to identify realistic opportunities for additional accessible programmes.
  • Build relationships with disability organisations, schools, health providers and community groups.
  • Deliver activities in accordance with approved operating procedures and risk-management requirements.
