  • NZ residency or valid NZ work visa; pre-engagement checks including police vetting.

Academic Coordinator - Occupational Therapy

Overview

NorthTec has an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and relationship-focused Academic Co-ordinator to support the successful delivery of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy programme in partnership with Otago Polytechnic.

In this key co-ordination role, you will act as the primary link between NorthTec and Otago Polytechnic, facilitating communication, supporting operational processes, and ensuring a positive experience for students and staff across multiple Northland sites.

This is a fixed-term, part-time, 0.2 FTE (7.5 hours per week) engagement commencing immediately and ending in December 2026. This role is primarily based at our Raumanga campus in Whangārei, however ability/flexibility to travel to other sites within the region may be required to support programme delivery.

Due to the time-sensitive nature of this assignment, we’re seeking expressions of interest urgently – early application is strongly encouraged, as this position may close as soon as a suitable candidate is confirmed.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating communication and information sharing between NorthTec and Otago Polytechnic teams.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Undergraduate degree in health, business administration, occupational therapy), or equivalent experience.

2+ years' experience in a learner-facing or support service role.

Proven experience in administration support, coordination and planning.

Demonstrated ability to work with Māori, Pacific, and diverse communities.

Familiarity with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and their application.

The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and locations.

Confidence using digital tools, including student management systems and Microsoft Office.

Full NZ driver's licence; ability to travel across Tai Tokerau and attend events outside standard business hours.
