Job summary

Big Chill Distribution in Auckland is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead the Auckland warehouse. This hands-on leadership role oversees inbound/outbound, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction while driving productivity and safety.

Reporting to the Fulfillment Manager, you will develop labour plans, implement processes for new customers, and mentor a team to deliver high service standards in a busy chilled/frozen environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing warehouse ops in a 3PL/logistics environment.
• Strong leadership to coach and develop teams.
• Experience with labour planning, productivity, and performance.
• Understanding of inventory control processes and WMS.
• Customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Current OSH forklift and Reach Truck licences.
• Experience in chilled or frozen environments is advantageous.

About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our Auckland warehouse operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for all inbound and outbound warehouse activities, ensuring operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and team performance. You'll play a key role in driving productivity, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the successful onboarding of new customers.

Reporting to the Auckland Fufilment Manager, you'll lead a dedicated warehouse team while helping shape processes that support our continued growth.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse team members to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
• Manage all inbound, outbound, and storage operations within the 3PL warehouse.
• Develop labour plans, productivity measures, and operational reporting to support daily workflows.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as a key point of contact for operational matters.
• Lead the implementation and onboarding of new customers and services.
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock investigations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain warehouse equipment through preventative maintenance and repair programmes.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
• Champion a strong health, safety, and compliance culture throughout the site.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience managing warehouse operations within a 3PL, logistics, or distribution environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop teams.
• Experience managing warehouse productivity, labour planning, and operational performance.
• Sound understanding of inventory control processes and warehouse management systems.
• Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Current OSH-approved Forklift and Reach Truck licences.
• Practical experience operating a Reach Truck.
• Experience within chilled or frozen environments is advantageous but not essential.
