Green Cross Health – Hastings is offering a Full-time fixed-term Pharmacist Intern position for 2027 at Unichem Russell Street Pharmacy. The role provides hands-on dispensing experience under a preceptor, with rotation across the dispensary and retail operations.

Unichem Russell Street Pharmacy,an award winning medical centre based pharmacy is looking for a keen Intern Pharmacist to join our team!

What you will be doing

In your internship you will be assisting with day to day operations within the Dispensary and be providing accurate and efficient dispensing of pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a preceptor. Working alongside the wider Pharmacy team you will also be learning about Dispensary operations, the Pharmacy Retail business and how it all operates together.

This is a great opportunity for you to get insight into what it is like to work within a locally operated, Green Cross Health affiliated pharmacy. Hard work and dedication to your internship is definitely noticed and we have seen many of our past interns grow into professional Pharmacists > Dispensary Managers > Pharmacy Business Managers > Business Partners.

This internship role will require you to work approximately 35 - 45 hours per week on rotating rosters which gives a full circle picture of the business and our patients.

To be eligible for a Pharmacist Intern position, applicants must:

• Be in their final year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (NZ or approved overseas institution).
• Be enrolled (or planning to enrol) in the EVOLVE Intern Training Programme.
• Be legally able to work in New Zealand (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or appropriate Work Visa holder).
• Obtain provisional registration with the Pharmacy Council of NZ under the Intern Scope of Practice before starting.
• Meet the Pharmacy Council's Fit and Proper Person criteria (e.g., good character, no major criminal history, safe to practise).
