Job summary

MDE Stavanger is seeking a Quality & Risk Lead to drive risk governance and quality processes across projects in the oil and gas/energy sector. You will lead risk identification, incidents handling, and continuous improvement efforts with project teams and suppliers.

The role requires a engineering/science degree and at least 10 years of experience, fluent English, and strong communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders and deliver compliant results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or science.
  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience in quality and/or risk management in oil and gas or energy.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 31000.
  • Fluent English, Norwegian is an advantage.
  • Permanent or project-based employment with competitive terms.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate identification and handling of risks and criticalities, follow up risk-reducing actions.
  • Handle quality incidents, changes, nonconformities and deviations, and follow up actions until closed.
  • Conduct quality and risk analyses, root cause investigations, and share lessons learned.
  • Monitor QRM targets, KPIs and trends, drive continuous improvement.
  • Set up and follow quality assurance plans in line with audits and other units.
  • Represent QRM in contracting and supplier follow-up.
  • Plan and carry out quality and risk campaigns.
  • Support assets with a focus on deviations and timely closure.
  • Be part of project leadership ensuring alignment with management system and model.
  • Lead quality and risk governance within projects with project control, suppliers, and partners.
  • Collaborate with the extended QRM network.

  • Cooperate extensively with the extended QRM network.
Qualification Requirements
  • A relevant engineering or science degree at bachelor's or master's level.
  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience in quality and/or risk management in the oil and gas or energy industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, e.g. ISO 9001 and ISO 31000.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken; Norwegian is an advantage.
  • Structured and solution-oriented, with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Good communication skills, and able to influence and motivate others.
  • Works independently and takes ownership.
