Job summary

Vets for Pets Bishop Auckland is offering a 6-month fixed term Veterinary Care Assistant/Receptionist role. The job involves joining a bright, well-equipped practice and handling reception duties on a rota basis, with opportunities to support the nursing team during leave.

You will be the friendly face for clients and their pets, delivering excellent customer service and helping with non-clinical tasks to keep the practice running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Qualified VCA with interest in developing skills in a veterinary reception role.
• Experience in a VCA role is desirable but not essential if you have the right attitude and drive.
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, welcoming manner are required.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Veterinary Care Assistant/ Receptionist to join our Bishop Auckland Vets for Pets practice on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Our practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities.

You will assist all colleagues with non-clinical duties to support smooth running of the practice and provide the best standard of patient care. This role will include working some reception shifts on a rota basis.

We are looking for someone to work a minimum of 18 hours per week, primarily covering the reception desk. Flexibility is essential, as there will also be opportunities for additional hours and overtime, including supporting the nursing team during periods of annual leave and holiday cover.

Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential to develop into a permanent contract dependant on business needs.

We are looking for a qualified VCA to join our team. Previous experience working in a VCA role would be highly desirable, although we are also keen to hear from candidates who have the relevant qualifications and a genuine interest in developing their experience within the role.
