Blue Moon Metals Inc. is seeking a Mine Safety Engineer for its Nussir Project in Hammerfest, Norway.

You will manage safety for underground construction and transition to long-term operations, overseeing critical systems, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance. The role requires leading safety programs, coordinating with contractors, and driving incident investigations to zero incidents while ensuring adherence to local and international standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Occupational Health & Safety.
• 5–8 years of experience in heavy industrial environments, with at least 3 years directly focused on underground mine operations or underground civil tunneling.
• Phase Exposure: experience navigating the transition from heavy construction to steady-state operations is highly valued.

Responsabilités

• Contractor Safety Management: audit major EPC contractors underground to ensure alignment with safety cultures.
• Excavation & Structural Oversight: support safety assessments along the growing decline, tunnels, and networks.
• Commissioning Risk Analysis: lead PHSR and risk assessments for installation and no-load commissioning of fixed and semi-fixed machinery.
• Underground Systems Management: design and monitor safety systems like ventilation, gas detection, blast clearances, and collision warning.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure adherence to Norwegian mining and labor laws and authorities.
