Job summary

Mercor seeks native Telugu annotators to create high-quality training data for Telugu scripts and related languages. You will transcription and annotation of public Telugu documents, handling multi-column layouts, tables, and handwritten content.

In this role, you will identify page regions, assign types, maintain reading order, and ensure exact character-level transcription. Collaboration and peer review are integral to guaranteeing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of Telugu script and orthography.
• Extremely accurate at character-level transcription.
• Experience with document annotation or localization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source Telugu PDFs and annotate page structure with reading order.
• Identify and bound every meaningful region of the page and assign a type and reading order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figure/table.
• Transcribe faithfully in Telugu script, indicating illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work as part of a two-expert workflow.
