Job summary

Mercor in Oslo seeks a native Telugu speaker to join its data annotation team. You will work with real Telugu documents, including handwritten and multi-column layouts, performing careful transcription and structural tagging to create high-quality training data.

You will identify and bound regions, assign types and reading order, record relationships to figures or tables, and ensure second-expert review passes with maximum accuracy.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full command of Telugu script and orthography.
• A track record in annotation, transcription, localization, or related language data work.
• Extreme attention to character-level accuracy and diacritics.

Responsibilities

• Source Telugu PDFs or public documents containing multimodal elements for annotation.
• Annotate page structure: identify regions and assign types and reading order.
• Record relationships to the containing figures/tables.
• Transcribe text exactly in Telugu script and flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, type, source, dimensions, and handwriting flags.
• Review a colleague's work through second-expert review.
