Job summary

Dovre Solutions AS is seeking a safety systems engineer to perform detailed design and modification on safety-related projects in Bergen, Norway. The role covers PFP, AFP, area classification, Fire and Gas, SIL, and PED definitions, with close collaboration with clients and vendors.

Required education includes a Master or Bachelor in technical safety. The candidate should have 5–10 years offshore design experience and strong communications in Norwegian and English.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or related discipline; relevant work experience can compensate for level.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Ability to show a high degree of self-learning and strong communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
• Handle Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Active Fire Protection (AFP).
• Conduct area classification and ignition source control analyses.
• Oversee Fire and Gas Detection and EER (Escape, Evacuation, Rescue) planning.
• Address Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements and PED definitions.
• Coordinate environmental and working environment engineering tasks.
• Engage in interdisciplinary checks, IDC, and verifications with stakeholders.
• Support engineers and coordinate with clients, vendors, and 3rd parties.

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects

• Perform work tasks according to the company’s and the clients governing documentation.
• Give concise input regarding cost and plan activities for safety aspects of the project.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities e.g. HAZID, WEHRA and design reviews.
• Follow-up of client, vendors and 3rd Parties.
• Support and follow-up of engineers.
• Work actively for a good professional and social environment in the group.
• Contribute actively to the process of continuous improvement and experience transfer.

Requirements

Required Education:

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or other related disciplines. Relevant work experience can compensate for educational level.

Required Work Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience within offshore design and modification work in Norway. Experience should give capability of working independently on the V&M projects while collaborating effectively with stakeholders Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to show a high degree of self-learning skills.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Good communication capabilities. Awareness of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
