Job summary

IKM Consultants AS in Norway seeks an HSE Engineer to perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems across projects. You will handle PFP, AFP, and Fire and Gas Detection, manage Area Classification, ignition controls, EER and SIL, and oversee Working Environment and environmental care engineering.

You will coordinate across disciplines, conduct verifications, and support risk and WEHRA activities, while liaising with clients, vendors, and third parties.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical safety or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years offshore design and modification experience in Norway.
  • Strong knowledge of Ptil, ISO and NORSOK standards.
  • Ability to work independently and with stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
  • Handle Passive Fire Protection (PFP), Active Fire Protection (AFP), and Fire and Gas Detection.
  • Manage Area Classification, Ignition Source Control, Escape, Evacuation and Rescue (EER), and Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
  • Oversee Working Environment and Environmental Care Engineering.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary coordination, checks, and verifications.
  • Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities such as HAZID and WEHRA.
  • Follow up with clients, vendors, and third parties.
  • Provide input regarding cost and plan activities for project safety aspects.

  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and self-learning skills.
  • Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Location: Bergen

Work schedule: Full-time

Duration: Assignment from September 2026 to February 2028
