Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS in Bergen seeks a Technical Safety/Senior Engineer to design and modify safety systems for offshore projects, including Passive Fire Protection, Fire Detection, Area Classification, and gas detection.

You will coordinate with clients, vendors and 3rd parties, lead risk studies (HAZID/WEHRA), and support engineers while maintaining high safety, quality and environmental standards. Fluency in Norwegian and English is required.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor in technical safety or related disciplines.
• 5–10 years offshore design and modification experience in Norway.
• Familiar with Ptil, ISO and NORSOK standards.
• Strong written and spoken Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify safety systems in offshore projects.
• Work on Passive Fire Protection, AFP, area classification, and gas detection.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and 3rd parties.
• Contribute to HAZID, WEHRA, and design reviews.
• Support and mentor engineers and ensure compliant documentation.
• Promote continuous improvement and knowledge transfer.

Job Description

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects
• Passive Fire Protection, PFP
• Active Fire Protection, AFP
• Area Classification and Ignition Source Control
• Fire and Gas Detection
• Escape, Evacuation and Rescue, EER
• Safety Integrity Level, SIL
• Definition of fluid groups, PED
• Working Environment Engineering
• Environmental Care Engineering
• Interdisciplinary coordination, checks, IDC, and verifications.
• Perform work tasks according to the company's and the clients governing documentation.
• Give concise input regarding cost and plan activities for safety aspects of the project.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities e.g. HAZID, WEHRA and design reviews.
• Follow-up of client, vendors and 3rd Parties.
• Support and follow-up of engineers.
• Work actively for a good professional and social environment in the group.
• Contribute actively to the process of continuous improvement and experience transfer.

Qualifications

• Master/Bachelor degree in technical safety or other related disciplines. Relevant work experience can compensate for educational level.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience within offshore design and modification work in Norway. Experience should give capability of working independently on the V&M projects while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
• Knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
• Ability to show a high degree of self-learning skills.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Good communication capabilities.
• Awareness of Ptil requirements, ISO- and NORSOK standards.
