Job summary

Equinor ASA is seeking a Technical Safety professional for our North Development program in Harstad, Norway. You will contribute to safe operations by managing technical safety barriers, risk assessments, and process safety for designated installations.

The role includes early-stage development with learning opportunities and potential exchanges between northern locations. The position targets recent graduates with a technical degree and up to three years of relevant experience, offering

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Process Engineering, Automation, or another relevant technical discipline (completed by Aug 2027).
No more than three years of relevant full-time work experience. Formal experience is not a requirement.
Knowledge or experience with risk management would be an advantage.
Good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian and English.
Ability to communicate requirements and show direction to internal and external stakeholders.
Excitement about living and working from Harstad.

Responsibilities

Contribute to safety and risk management of designated installations within the North Development program.
Support technical safety and barrier management to ensure regulatory compliance and safety performance.
Assist in continuous learning and exchange between northern Norway locations in the first years.
Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to implement safety improvements and best practices.
Monitor and document technical integrity of safety-critical systems and barriers.
Support risk assessments and barrier management activities as part of projects.
