Job summary

Cognite is seeking a seasoned Business Development Director for the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (CoE). The role focuses on driving growth by winning new Supply Chain business with enterprise clients, leveraging Cognite Applications and the Cognite Data Fusion Platform.

You will lead cross-functional deal teams, build ROI models, and partner with internal teams and external partners to maximize bookings. Travel and remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Deep domain expertise in complex Supply Chain operations for Energy, Manufacturing or Power Utilities verticals.
• Ability to sell value and build quantified ROI frameworks for prospective buyers.
• High degree of self-motivation, time management, and ability to informally lead and effectively influence cross-functional deal teams.
• Stellar presentation, written, and verbal communication skills tailored for C-suite engagement.
• Proven mastery of selling complex analytics or data platforms (e.g., AI, Big Data, Data Warehousing, BI, Machine Learning).
• Familiarity with modern data architectures and tools, such as Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, BigQuery), Data Warehouses, and Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted territory and CoE strategy to accelerate bookings growth.
• Actively prospect and leverage your network to generate pipeline with strong commercial insights.
• Lead extended territory teams through complex enterprise sales cycles to exceed bookings targets.
• Quantify ROI and present strong business cases to justify software investments.
• Collaborate with partners to qualify opportunities and drive joint engagements.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with executives by highlighting long-term value.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing to feed market insights into strategy.
• Forecast monthly/quarterly bookings and maintain up-to-date account records in Salesforce.
