Job summary

NRL is seeking an experienced Subsea Systems Engineer to coordinate subsea control and automation activities on a major offshore project in Stavanger, Norway. The role emphasizes SAS and Instrumentation, with interface duties across vendor teams and topside integration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in NCS projects, strong SAS knowledge, and proven subsea integration experience. Offshore certification is preferred, with eligibility to work in Norway.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety & Automation Systems (SAS) and subsea control systems.
  • Experience with subsea integration and supplier management.
  • Good understanding of E&I installations, NORSOK, and IEC standards.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities from strategy through supplier follow-up.
  • Act as the main technical interface for vendors ensuring scope and quality.
  • Prepare technical specifications, requisitions, and scopes of work for tenders.
  • Support bid assessments, technical evaluations, and supplier selections.
  • Conduct detailed engineering activities within Instrumentation and SAS disciplines.
  • Participate in FATs and vendor inspections.
  • Oversee change management and maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement to optimise execution efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate integration of subsea control systems with topside automation and key suppliers.
