Job summary

Omega Subsea is strengthening its Engineering Department and seeks an experienced Structural Lead to build our structural discipline and engineering capability. Onshore based in Stavanger or Bergen with travel.

The role combines technical leadership with shaping how engineering is performed, owning structural, fabrication and CAD across projects, and establishing standards and governing documentation for a growing organisation.

Qualifications

  • MSc or BSc in Structural, Mechanical, Marine, Subsea Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience within offshore construction, subsea installation or marine projects.
  • Strong practical experience in structural engineering, fabrication follow-up and offshore execution.
  • Experience as a Lead Engineer or Discipline Lead is advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of DNV, NORSOK and relevant offshore structural and fabrication standards.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as Sesam/GeniE, Ansys, STAAD or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, Norwegian preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the structural discipline within Omega Subsea.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are practical, safe and suitable for offshore construction and installation, and aligned with client requirements.
  • Support lifting, load-out, seafastening, mobilisation and offshore installation engineering.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments and HAZID/HAZOP studies.
  • Manage and technically follow up engineering, fabrication and CAD subcontractors.
  • Contribute to tenders, technical proposals and project planning.
  • Work to continuously improve the engineering discipline.

Job description

Omega Subsea is strengthening its newly established Engineering Department and is seeking an experienced Structural Lead to take a key role in building our engineering capability and structural discipline.

This role combines technical leadership with the opportunity to shape how engineering is performed within Omega Subsea. We are looking for a candidate with solid experience from the offshore construction and installation segment, who understands the full project lifecycle from engineering and fabrication through mobilisation and offshore execution.

You will take ownership of structural, fabrication and CAD engineering across our project portfolio, while establishing the processes, standards and governing documentation needed to support a growing organisation.

The position is onshore based in Stavanger or Bergen (preferably Stavanger). Approximately 60 travel days per year should be expected in connection with supplier meetings, fabrication follow-up, mobilisations, audits and site visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the structural discipline within Omega Subsea.
