Job summary

Arondite seeks a deployment-focused software engineer to integrate products into customer environments across Norway, the UK, and beyond. You will understand real-world constraints by visiting sites, test environments, and field exercises while delivering secure, production-quality code.

Interface with autonomous systems, robotics platforms and legacy tech, solving complex integration challenges. Collaborate with users and cross-functional teams to maximize mission value and credibility.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
Strong programming skills in server-side languages (C++, Java, Rust or Python) or frontend in TypeScript/JavaScript.
Interest in deployment, integration and field engineering problems.
Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly in real-world environments.
Strong communication skills for direct interaction with users and engineers.
Willingness to travel frequently and spend time on-site with customers.
Good engineering judgment including reliability and secure development practices.
Right to work in Norway or feasible route to obtain it; Norwegian security clearance likely.
Nice-to-have: embedded/resource-constrained devices, PostgreSQL, ML apps, distributed systems.

Job description

Deploy Arondite’s products into customer environments and adapt them to real-world technical constraints
Travel to customer and partner sites in Norway, the UK and occasionally elsewhere
Understand operational use cases first hand through customer offices, test sites, exercises and field environments
Write secure, robust, production-quality software for customer deployments and fielded use cases
Interface with autonomous systems, robotics platforms, sensors and legacy systems in live test or exercise settings
Work through integration challenges involving heterogeneous Norwegian, UK and NATO-aligned systems
Collaborate directly with users to refine implementations and maximise mission value
Feed product insight back into the core engineering team so the platform improves based on deployment learning
Partner across software, AI/ML, networking, product and strategy to solve customer problems
Help establish engineering excellence, pragmatism and ownership within the deployed team
Support trials, shape deployments, build credibility with users and inform Arondite’s Norway strategy

Requirements

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject, or equivalent practical experience
Strong programming skills in server-side languages such as C++, Java, Rust or Python, or front-end development in TypeScript or JavaScript using frameworks such as Angular or React
Strong interest in working across deployment, integration and field engineering problems
Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly and work effectively in ambiguous, real-world environments
Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customer users, engineers and stakeholders
Willingness to travel frequently and spend meaningful time on-site with customers and partners
Good engineering judgment, including understanding of reliability, maintainability and secure development practices
Legal right to work in Norway at the time of application, or a clear and realistic route to obtaining it
Likely ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate Norwegian security clearance
Nice-to-have experience with embedded or resource-constrained devices, legacy systems, PostgreSQL, machine learning applications, hardware debugging, distributed systems, networking, communications, demonstrations, trials or operational technology rollouts
