Job summary

KONGSBERG Discovery in Norway seeks a senior concept lead to shape future undersea warfare solutions. You will translate early ideas into credible system concepts by coordinating business development, product management, R&D, and research communities while balancing feasibility, interfaces, effort and risk.

This role requires a strong technical background, typically a master’s degree in engineering or related field, and experience with complex maritime or autonomous systems.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background, typically a master’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with complex maritime, defence or autonomous systems.
• Ability to challenge assumptions and identify interfaces across engineering disciplines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English (Norwegian helpful).

Responsibilities

• Shape and prioritise opportunities: Turn operational and market needs into credible concepts and decision-ready recommendations.
• Develop and assess system concepts: Combine KONGSBERG capabilities and assess architecture, gaps, resources, dependencies and risks.
• Coordinate early-phase concepts: Bring together commercial, product, engineering and research teams for feasibility work, experiments and demonstrations.
• Move concepts into execution: Transfer prioritised concepts with clear scope and ownership, support roadmaps and customer dialogue, and close unsuitable initiatives.
